My Family

My Husband, Steven, is a stay-at home dad, parent volunteer for school activities, contractor who keeps Corner Brook maintained and functioning flawlessly and a journeyman welder. He loves to joke that he does "everything else".

And of course, me, Valerie, wife, mother, family organizer and chartered accountant!

Denise is now in Grade 7. She loves music and is playing saxophone with the band. She has completed her French class for the year and moved into Drama (watch out Les Misérables!). Denise has considered participating in the school science fair for a few years but it is part of the class assignment this year. She is now working on her sixth year of piano. She is also in her second year of karate, gaining her yellow belt with a white stripe with testing last June. Denise is our little entrepreneur and is always looking for ways to make a little money. She is also very excited about the new skatepark coming to Sundre and can't wait to make good use of it.

Heidi is now in Grade 5 and has started to really see the fun in reading. She has found her biggest challenge this year to be her second year of violin. This combined with her fourth year of piano keeps the music flowing in our house. She has also continued with the gymnastics club for her third year and has achieved her bronze badge. When Heidi isn't busy with all of these activities, she can be found in front of a computer. When the weather is nice, you may be able to convince Heidi to take a walk or ride a bike but for sure you wouldn't need to convince her to ride a horse.
